Owens & Minor Credit Reporting Specialist in Mechanicsville, Virginia
Responsible for gathering, analyzing and summarizing credit data and financial statement metrics on prospective or existing customers.Develops related reports for Owens & Minor management.Utilizes data from multiple systems to track key credit-related performance indicators through monthly and ad hoc reporting.May examine account history in order to assess credit risk for the extension or renewal of credit within defined limits.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Compiles and maintains customer credit information (such as:delinquent accounts, incomplete files and credit risks) as well as Owens & Minor credit performance metrics.
2.Utilizes research skills to gather credit reports, financial statements, risk ratings, etc. from external resources.
3.Develops and maintains integrated MS Access database/MS Excel spreadsheets to support the compilation and reporting of credit data.
4.Ensures the completion of time sensitive reports.
5.Maintains the quality and confirms the accuracy of reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
6.Summarizes the credit data based on reporting specifications.Creates ad hoc reporting and queries as needed to respond to management data requests.
7.Monitors credit data in order to identify trends or potential issues.Notifies the appropriate parties in a timely manner in order to limit the Company's credit risk and potential loss.
8.Serves as a subject matter expert on databases and reporting.
9.Utilizes established scoring methodology to evaluate credit risks.
10.May assist in performing credit reviews and approvals for existing and new customers.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.May authorize the extension of credit within defined limits.
2.May assist in the documentation of process flows and procedures.
3.Performs additional duties as directed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1.High School diploma, Required.
2.An Associate's degree with a focus in Finance or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
3.Minimum, two (2) years of experience working with reporting databases (software) to query and format data, required.
4.Minimum, one (1) year of experience in Finance and/or Accounting, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1.Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Access.
2.Basic knowledge of policies and procedures used in credit administration.
3.Ability to research, pull data from multiple sources and create summaries and reports.
4.Ability to meet strict deadlines within a very fluid work environment.
5.Strong analytical and writing skills.
6.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
