Owens & Minor Field Contract & Pricing Supervisor in Mechanicsville, Virginia

Supervise local contract administration team in the management of division's contract process. Research questions, and resolves complex pricing/rebate issues between Corporate Contracts, Rebates, Vendors, Customers and the O&M Sales force for one or more Areas. Reviews and approves customer set-up structures as it relates to contract access. Responsible for standard price change notification to customers and communication and follow-up of expiring contracts. Maintains knowledge of the systems that support these activities and recommends changes to these systems. Works closely with Area Pricing and Margin Analysts on margin initiatives. Effectively works with all levels of field sales and operational management and corporate management. Works on a self-directed basis as direct management is not on-site.

Provides daily supervision for local Contract Administrators. Reviews/evaluates the daily work and performance of administrators. Provides training as needed.

Analyzes Contract audit reports and expiring contract communications from Corporate for possible errors or potential pricing/rebate issues. Notifies Customers and Sales Reps as appropriate. This may include running periodic price-book information for the customer.

Analyzes and researches complex pricing and rebate issues based on sales order exceptions, questions from customers and sales reps, as well as short-pays in accounts receivable. This includes both contract and acq. cost questions. Determines appropriate action required and ensures the correct team (field or home office) takes the appropriate action.

Responsible for proactive field resolution on replacements of expiring contracts and customer GPO/tier eligibility documentation that could not be resolved by the corporate team. Authorizes O&M waiver of advanced notification as required by manufacturers to meet customer expectations. Negotiates and obtains contract pricing from manufacturer to support "Bid Customers."

Accountable for appropriate resolution and communication to field management of rebate denials if customer/field documentation or involvement is necessary to support rebates claimed. Resolution may involve direct communication with the customer and negotiation with vendors.

Analyze and review credit/rebill activity to correct overcharges and denied rebates. Reviews and approves pass through credits due to contract pricing issues. Load Bill-only contracts as necessary for credit/rebills. Communicates with field AR to ensure they have information to apply credits to ensure customer does not receive duplicate credit.

Identifies through specific customer knowledge and analysis potential margin opportunities. Coordinates with Area Pricing and Margin team on margin initiatives as required.

Responsible for planning and implementing contract pricing on new customer conversions and existing customer GPO conversions. Leads projects to compare pricing and track changes during these conversions and ensures that appropriate field and corporate resources are included in the project.

Responsible for analyzing pricing issues & processes resulting short-pays and determining appropriate resolution.Supports FieldARon complex pricing audits from customers and/or GPO's for specific customers.

Supports Sales Rep training on contracts and pricing systems, processes, and industry standards.

4 to 7 years experience in med-surg distribution or manufacturing. Previous supervisor experience preferred.


Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing multiple projects/demands and working with minimal supervision.

Ability to research and analyze complex issues including clear communication to external parties (vendors and customers).

Professional presence in vendor and/or customer meetings or conference calls. Ability to negotiate directly with customers and vendors for resolution of issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to perform in a matrix reporting relationship.

In-depth knowledge of contract and rebate processes.

Experience with mainframe and PC processing infrastructures.

Ability to work with and meet tight deadlines.
