Job Description



Working from work requests (stored in CMMS - Computerized Maintenance Management System); the direction and guidance of other maintenance personnel; work procedures; or other written, verbal or electronic instruction, performs a wide variety of mechanical and electrical duties to maintain production equipment and facilities in a safe, clean and efficiently operational manner. Adheres to procedures and prepares and maintains records, in either written or electronic form, regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping.


1.       With Equipment Mechanic oversight, observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble. Works with other mechanics to repair equipment in a timely manner.

2.       With Equipment Mechanic oversight, adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments to ensure machines are operating within validated parameters.

3.       Uses measuring devices and visual inspection to ensure quality of product and conformity to prints, work instructions and standards.

4.       Operates various tools and equipment in order to maintain, clean, prep, lubricate, handle, manipulate and move machinery, equipment, salvage, and facilities.

5.       Reads, understands, and works from drawings, sketches, lubrication manuals, work requests and other written, electronic or verbal instruction.

6.       Prepares and maintains records.

7.       Performs tooling changes and setups to support production requirements.

8.       Observes safety and security procedures.

9.     Assists other personnel as needed.


1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



  • High school diploma required
  • Enrollment in a 1 or 2 year university/technical school certificate program required
  • Must complete certification in 36 months from start date to remain in position
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements


  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and act on them
  • Works efficiently; completes work in timely manner
  •  Strong attention to detail and adaptability; urgent, proactive demeanor
  • Friendly, professional attitude with excellent communication and listening skills
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions


  • The teammate must have the ability to lift routinely up to 50 pounds
  • On occasion, may be required to lift items weighing 100 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock and vibration
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
