POSITION SUMMARY

Develops, leads, and executes marketing strategies and plans targeting healthcare perioperative call points through our direct and channel sales efforts that target acute care hospital settings as well as ambulatory surgery centers.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

1.       Works with Marketing, Sales and Operations leaders to bring new value propositions to life.

2.       Acts as the project manager and owner responsible for making marketing strategies and plans happen.

3.       Manages a team of Marketing resources to execute marketing strategies for the Perioperative Solutions group.

4.       Conducts and coordinates formal and informal market research for specific objectives as well as for general on-going knowledge of the market.

5.       Works with Sales Operations to ensure that Field Sales training, materials and messaging are aligned for success in this new go-to-market approach.

6.       Leads research and development of a data-driven value proposition calculator. This will require researching and validating the metrics and assumptions, as well as executing a spreadsheet version of the calculator.

7.       Leads strategy and execution of trade show and thought-leadership events.  Engages and negotiates with trade group marketers to maximize networking opportunities and public relations opportunities.   Ensures that our strategic objectives are met and that messaging is consistent. Executes plans, which are likely to entail coordinating, setting up and attending trade show events.

8.       Develops customer stories, testimonials and white-papers by working through the sales and operations teams to secure the necessary data points and access to customers.

9.       Supports sales and operations teams in graphically enhancing and standardizing their reporting and customer communication tools.

10.   Develops sales and marketing materials including power point presentations, brochures, web content, customer communications, email marketing, digital marketing assets, video content, white papers, talking points for sales, and other content marketing pieces.    Oversees creative development and production as needed.

11.   Coordinates with component vendors on cooperative marketing programs.

12.   Supports channel marketing with training and communications materials on a semi-annual basis and ad hoc support needs.

13.   Works as part of the Owens & Minor Clinical Procedural Solutions Marketing team, contributing ideas and skills as needed.

14.   Participates in strategic initiatives that may involve pricing, product, promotion and distribution strategies.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

1.      Performs additional duties as directed. 



Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required
  • Eight or more years of directly related experience
  • Healthcare marketing experience directly in a clinical / perioperative setting preferred
  • International marketing experience/exposure is preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Perioperative clinical knowledge
  • Ability to flex between strategic thinking and tactical execution
  • Strong financial acumen with understanding of data analytics
  • Strong excel skills
  • Experience and comfort with technologies including SAP, Salesforce.com and other business systems
  • Strong abilities to create customer-facing presentations and spreadsheets / charts in MicroSoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to write effectively for customer-facing as well as internal / channel audiences


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Ability to work extended hours on occasion
