POSITION SUMMARY

 

Manages field sales support functions including sales support, quotation, revisions, prototype development, sequencing, and new tray conversions.  Manages software validations and verifications.  Leads the hiring, placement, management and development of Quoting Department staff in order to achieve department goals, and manages continuous improvement processes to develop the department development.   The person in this position must have strong knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Quality Systems Regulation and International Organization for Standardization laws and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.       Develops and implements effective and efficient operational procedures for the Custom Procedure Tray Quoting Department.

2.       Oversees customer specifications and development of Custom Procedure Trays (CPT), including configuration and new software process implementations. Leads changes and departmental process improvements to ensure effective and long-term problem resolution.

3.       Works with site leadership to effectively communicate to the sales force and management all identified problems, solutions and new developments.

4.       Establishes sound working rapport with external customers and sales representatives, using meetings, conference calls, and other appropriate means to improve the company/customer/sales representative relationship.  Continually seeks out opportunities to solidify this working relationship.

5.       Provides compliance support for contracts, pricing and incentives agreements, rulemaking, government regulation, and program requirements (Federal Acquisitions Regulations, Federal Supply Schedule, Industrial Funding Fee, Department of Defense, and Veterans Administration, etc.).

6.       Manages FDA Quality System compliance in accordance with requirements for implementation of new software process and improvement changes (validations, verification processes, etc.).

7.       Participates on cross-functional teams to continuously improve communications and align Quoting Department service policies and systems with the company's objectives.

8.       Maintains functional responsibility for support, quoting, revisions, prototype development, sequencing, new tray conversions, and software validations/verifications.

9.       Responsible for the placement, supervision, and development of the appropriate professional staff needed to maintain sound quality procedures and department development.  Performs employee assessments for annual performance reviews and/or appropriate corrective actions as needed.

10.   Develops and monitors sound business processes and internal controls to achieve corporate objectives, minimize risk, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.       Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, personal networks, membership/participation in professional societies, organizations, etc.

2.       Performs additional duties as directed.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relating field (Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration)
  • Six (6) or more years of related manufacturing experience, preferably working with medical devices and/or Custom Procedure Trays
  • Quality System Regulations, International Organization for Standardization, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, or other continuous improvement certifications/training highly preferred
  •  Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
