Job Description



The stocker is responsible for verifying that products are stored properly, replenished when necessary, and inspected for wear or defects. 


1.      Verifies product before it is placed on the shelf.

2.      Verifies inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigates discrepancies or adjusts errors.

3.      Sorts, counts, boxes, labels, and ensures pallets are correct by reading each label and determining that the number of boxes on each skid tag is correct. 

4.      Compares identifying information on the stock copies and count items and boxes to verify information

5.      Ensures First In-First Out (FIFO) is followed for all transactions.

6.      Completes a Nonconforming Material Report (NCMR) on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

7.      Uses attention-to-detail to read and distinguish between similar products and similar product names in all work areas. 

8.      Examines and inspects stocked items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to appropriate Warehouse personnel.

9.      Replenishes and reviews overflow rack for materials and places in the appropriate bin / shelf locations and accurately updates/maintains overflow inventory documents.

10.  Cleans and clears the bin locations of scraps to prevent trip hazards.

11.  Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, and ensures a safe working environment.

12.  Operates lift trucks and/or pallet jackets for loading or unloading pallets.


1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



  1. High school diploma or GED and 2-3 years of experience working in a warehouse preferred.


1.      Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the receiving function

2.      Must be able to communicate professionally with employees, customers and vendors in person and on the telephone.

3.      Requires the ability to work well in a team environment.

4.      Must possess exceptional customer service / interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels.

5.      Must be able to operate standard office equipment.

6.      Ability to safely operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification.

7.      Ability to support the fiscal year inventory process.

2.      Must be able to stand for the 100% of the shift.

3.      Ability to withstand varying temperature extremes in the Warehouse is required to fulfill regularly assigned duties.

4.      Must comply with company hygiene and gowning requirements as defined in the Department Operating Procedures, "Gowning Requirements and Basic Hygiene for Warehouse, Assembly, Clean Room and Boxing Areas".

5.      Must be able to withstand exposure to isopropyl alcohol used for hand cleaning.

6.      Must be able to withstand exposure to latex.



1.      Fingering:   Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.

2.      Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

3.      Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

4.      Visual Acuity:  Closely viewing in order to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
