Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Performs the daily cash and debt management activities of the Home Office Treasury Department; determines cash position; processes payment files from Oracle, responsible for various risk management duties including assisting with the administration of the workers' compensation program and assists with special projects in Treasury and Risk Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

1.       Responsible for daily management of the $1.7B debt portfolio.

2.       Determines the cash/debt position each day and makes the daily borrowing or investment decision.

3.       Instructs the bank based on the borrowing or repayment decision and prepares required borrowing notices for advances under the Credit Agreement

4.       Performs daily cash management activities for U.S. including:  executing funds transfers, pulling bank reports from various websites and determining cash/debt position.

5.       Monitors positive pay activity for disbursement accounts, researches exceptions and takes appropriate actions, as deemed necessary.

6.       Provides Controller's teams with documentation to record cash transactions into the general ledger and assists with research as necessary.

7.       Reports daily cash receipts for lockboxes, EFT payments and credit card payments. Maintains customer service contact list for lockboxes and assists cash application team in resolving bank discrepancies.

8.       Deposits checks received at home office using remote deposit capture.

9.       Assists with administration of online bank sites.

10.   Prepares monthly interest expense report and related schedules for the Accounting Department to record interest expense in the general ledger and analyzes any significant variances from prior months.

11.   Processes payment files from Oracle to the bank, ensures all files are sent successfully and researches any discrepancies.

12.   Processes insurance invoices to include: auto, general liability, executive risk, workers' compensation premium invoices, monthly workers� compensation deductible invoices and a quarterly administrative fee invoice.

13.   Assists Risk Manager with the production of loss reports for workers' compensation, auto liability and general liability.

14.   Assists with updating insurance manual on the Owens & Minor intranet, the hOMepage, as needed; assists Risk Manager with the annual insurance renewal process.

15.   Maintains the SharePoint site for Treasury department.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

1.       Assists with special projects.

2.       Performs other financial analytical support, as directed.

3.       Performs additional duties as directed.



Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred with a broad knowledge of a discipline such as finance, accounting or business administration.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in banking, cash or financial management is desired.

  KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of financial statements
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of teammate and company information
  • Knowledge of cash management and insurance
  • Proficient in the use of PC spreadsheet/word processing software,  including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
