Job Description

Travels to accounts to manage Owens & Minor distribution relationship and to ensure needs are met, provide problem resolution, and identify product and program opportunity.  Provides sales support to Account Executives on large accounts.  May independently perform distribution service support at small corporate accounts.  Ensures that hospitals needs are acknowledged and addressed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.             Ensures contract compliance and customer satisfaction through ongoing identification of customer needs and expectations. Ensures complianceto all terms and conditions of the contract.

2.             Ensures execution of Product and Program opportunities tied to Parent organization

3.             Identifies opportunities within assigned accounts and increases penetration while maintaining profitability.

4.             Schedules meetings with materials managers and buyers to ensure accuracy and timeliness in purchase orders.

5.             Checks inventory to determine hospital usage levels.

6.             Researches new products that hospitals are interested in purchasing while ensuring profitability.

7.             Converts new customer's product numbers to Owens & Minor's product numbers.

8.             Acts as liaison between hospital and manufacturers to ensure accuracy of materials and supplies.

9.             Acts as liaison between hospital and division department heads to ensure smooth conversion.

STRENGTH REQUIREMENT:

Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. 

Handling

Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand. 

Talking

Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Talking is important for those activities in which workers must impart oral information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Hearing

Perceiving the nature of sounds.  Hearingis important for those activities which require ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on running engines.


QUALIFICATIONS:

A.         EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:

            Broad knowledge of a discipline such as finance, sales & marketing, business administration, or distribution preferred. A complete 4 year college or university education or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

B.         WORK EXPERIENCE:

Over one year up to and including three years.

C.         KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

            Ability to implement sales strategies.

            Demonstrated persuasion, negotiation, and influencing skills.

            Ability to follow up and follow through to ensure customer commitments are kept.

            Clear and accurate verbal and written communication skills, ability to deliver effective product presentations.

            Demonstrated knowledge of competitive products, pricing, strategy, accurate/appropriate market share, etc. as well as knowledge of O&M products.

            Awareness of applicable government regulations and their impact on the business.

            Demonstrated project planning and organizational skills.

            Ability to develop long range plans to accomplish territory objectives.

            Ability to meet deadlines.

            Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

            Ability to recognize business or incremental sales opportunities.

            Ability to display sound business judgement on a consistent basis.

            Honesty and integrity.
