Job Description

Responsiblefor coordination, data processing, writing, and managing of RFI and RFPproposals for GPO and their membership account(s).  Provide monthly contract performance data to Directors of Corporate Accounts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.                    Develops and maintains knowledgeable of each GPO's RFI, RFP and contract award process.

2.                    Make weekly updates to key departments and staff of bid opportunities and status of current RFI and RFP in process. 

3.                    Prepares
responses to RFI and RFP's. Solicits/coordinates information from
Director of Corporate, Product Analyst, Legal for inclusion in proposal
responses. Coordinates with other functional areas within the Company
to improve upon the content and presentation of RFI and RFP bids.

4.                    Coordinates the flow of strategic GPO Contract MediChoice information throughout the O & M network.

5.                    Responsible for coordinating the preparation of GPO business reviews with the Director of Corporate Accounts - MediChoice.

6.                    Provides
opportunity and competitive market analysis in collaboration with the
Director-Corporate Accounts to develop and support Owens & Minor
business strategy for Medichoice in the GPO market; including
protecting the profitability of the Medichice product line.

7.                    Negotiation with suppliers, including best pricing, pricing protection, and product availability.

8.                    Tracks and maintain electronic records of all MediChoice corporate agreements.

9.                    Monitors status of pending proposals and expiration dates of current contracts

10.                 Maintains highly confidential data utilized in the generation of price quotes.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.                    Represents O & M at trade conferences and symposiums, when directed by Director of Corporate Accounts.

2.                    Performs additional duties as directed.

3.                    Attends educational seminars to improve working knowledge of marketplace.

                General office equipment to include PC.

STRENGTH REQUIREMENT:

                Sedentary Work:  Exerting

                Hearing

                Perceiving the nature of sounds.  Hearing
is important for those activities which require ability to receive
detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine
discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on
running engines.



QUALIFICATIONS:

                A.            EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:

                                Broadknowledge of a discipline such as chemical, distribution, electrical,or mechanical engineering, behavioral science, finance or businessadministration.  Equal to a complete 4 year college or university education.

                B.            WORK EXPERIENCE:

                                At least five year experience, including experience in contract management/negotiation.

                C.            KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and perform under stress.
  •  Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to plan, organize and lead teammates at all levels.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and facilitate discussions with large or small audiences.
  •  Good computer skills(Word, Excel, Power Point, Business Objects, Access, Outlook, OMNI).
