Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for SEC and other external reporting as well as technical accounting research and analysis.  Directs all functions related to consolidation and corporate accounting.  Develops and manages accounting for acquisitions and other specialized areas.  Supports the activities of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and Management's Disclosure Committee.  Responsible for internal controls over financial disclosure.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.         Directs the preparation of external consolidated financial statements in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and with SEC and other regulatory requirements.

2.         Responsible for the total company consolidation analyses.

3.         Provides interpretation and analysis of financial results to senior management.

4.         Manages the team responsible for performing technical accounting research to determine proper accounting for new business activities and to ensure financial statements are prepared in compliance with GAAP.

5.         Monitors current accounting and reporting developments and provides analysis, interpretation, and recommendations to senior management.  Implements new accounting and reporting requirements for business impact.

6.         Provides accounting analysis and support for unusual or significant business transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, debt offerings and joint ventures.

7.         Directs the development of financial reporting methods to support management's decision-making process.

8.         Coordinates with external auditors in completion of the annual external audit and quarterly reviews.  Provides information and analysis as required by external auditors

9.         Provides accounting team support to the Tax Department in preparation of annual tax return, quarterly estimated tax payments, audits and provisions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1.      BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline, required.

2.      CPA certification, required.

3.      Minimum, seven (7) years of Accounting experience at the management level, including a minimum of three (3) years in public accounting and a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience, required.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1.      Knowledge of corporate financial and SEC reporting.

2.      Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirement.

3.      Strong accounting technical background (GAAP).

4.      Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence teammates of all levels.

5.      Ability to motivate and direct the work of others.

6.      Strong leadership skills.

7.      Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability. 

8.      Strong decision making skills.

9.      Ability to take initiative in a changing environment.
