Job Description



Consults with Owens & Minor clients to deliver expert Procurement advice.  Works closely with suppliers, global business leaders, and Procurement team members to identify opportunities for sourcing initiatives.  Performs category analysis in support of assigned categories, designing and executing plans accordingly.


1.       Supports client businesses on all aspects of Indirect Spend.

2.       Manages Strategic Supplier teammates, including planning, mentoring, coaching, career development, and role development.

3.       Utilizes proactive application of experience, enabling delivery of Procurement solutions to clients.

4.       Delivers Procurement solutions to areas of spend, and/or client profiles, or new clients.

5.       Identifies opportunities for supplier sourcing initiatives and category analysis.

6.       Initiates sourcing initiatives, category analysis, and category strategy development and execution as appropriate.

7.       Manages supplier negotiations, both as an end-to-end process and as a discrete "last and final" negotiation.

8.       Defines Procurement processes and develops appropriate process improvements.

9.      Helps lead build out of content and collateral supporting Procurement processes.

10.  Manages supplier relations and supplier performance, establishing appropriate KPIs, governance models and reporting.


 1.       Performs additional duties as directed.


  • Bachelor's Degree required; graduate Degree in related field (Supply Chain Management, Business Administration) preferred
  • Eight (8) or more years of related experience in strategic sourcing, professional services, Indirect Spend, or related categories
  • Experience working with international suppliers/manufacturers, and/or in a decentralized complex multinational company highly preferred


  • Strong project management skills, able to define, organize, and manage work expectations
  • Experience with Indirect Procurement
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in supplier qualification and supplier relationship management processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to gather and analyze business and financial data and formulate effective plans and targets
  • Proficient at managing multiple and shifting priorities, delivering timely and accurate work products, and responding with a sense of urgency as required
  • Ability to take initiative, identify and define better processes, work with minimal direction, and prioritize time-to- delivery results in a prompt manner
  • Work as part of a wider client facing team, engaging with and influencing client stakeholders on a daily basis - either remotely or on-client sites
  • Delegates tasks as appropriate with strong ability to oversee multiple projects.
  • Proven track record in both written and oral communications, including writing high-level program documents such as policies and procedural documents and effective employee communication plans
  • Proven ability to communicate and influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of simplifying and optimizing business processes and contract management through automation and standardization
  • Ability to drive metrics-based outcomes on Procurement cost savings


  •  Ability to travel up to 25%
