Job Description

Provides the Leadership Team, Inventory Management and the Regional Purchasing Teams and relevant customer groups with data reporting and analytical support to perform quality asset management.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.   Provides information to support our inventory management and purchasing functions to include execution and maintenance of critical reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) regarding Available-to-Promise reservations, excess inventory, sales, inventory, customer service-level, At-Risk inventory and item maintenance.

2.   Supports organizational initiatives involving standardization of decision support information. Builds tools and job aids to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of purchasing analysts, purchasing specialists and purchasing assistants.

3.   Populates and maintains various electronic files.  Provides support for ad hoc data requests from the regional purchasing teams.  Optimizes existing reports and develops new reports to meet business needs.

4.   Develops and maintains Inventory WISDOM reporting to ensure that suppliers receive accurate and timely information.  Ensures that suppliers are billed appropriately for this activity according to negotiated terms.

5.   Coordinates the collection and sharing of supplier reporting (including product shipping information, product availability status and backorder reporting).  Disseminates the data to essential teammates. 

6.   Develops appropriate backup procedures of key databases that contain critical programs or project information.

7.   Educates and trains teammates in the use of our various programs and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

          EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:

                   Four-year undergraduate degree required.

          WORK EXPERIENCE:

                   At least three years to five years.

          KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

A.   General PC skills (spreadsheet, database management, word processing and graphics presentation software).

B.   Good communications skills.

C.   Proven ability to learn new technical tools.

D.   Attention to detail.

E.   High level of accuracy.

          General office equipment to include PC.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:

  1. Inside working conditions
  2. Travel (approximately 10-20%)

          Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

          Talking

          Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Talking is important for those activities in which workers must impart oral information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

          Hearing

          Perceiving the nature of sounds.  Hearing is important for those activities which require ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on running engines. 

          Sedentary Work

          Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
