Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinates activities in the label room.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.      Prepares, coordinates, and expedites workflow to accommodate the needs of all production shifts.

2.      Examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to SOP and processes.

3.      Works closely with PEC to designs labels and inserts for custom labeling using Graphic Design/Publishing software.

4.      Resolves artwork issues, including proper content, by monitoring specifications and suggesting alternatives for improvement.

5.      Demonstrates awareness and understanding of Regulatory (FDA, ISO, International, and Government) requirements for Labeling. Design labels that adhere to these requirements. Make recommendations to maintain compliance with regulatory and policy updates.

6.      Maintains files and controls documents as required by company policy and regulations.

7.      Keeps stock of label room material by tracking and making the appropriate inventory adjustments.  Monitors inventory level for reorder, based on demand.  Submits purchase orders to procurement for label materials.

8.      Troubleshoots equipment and software problems partnering with the IT and Engineering teams.

9.      Designs and sources artwork mats.

10.  Resolves artwork issues, including proper content, by monitoring specifications and suggesting alternatives.

11.  Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency.  Writes Standard Operating Procedures and Work Cell Instructions for work area.

12.  Provides effective training to others on job essentials and operations within the department as needed.

13.  Keeps work area neat and orderly.

1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1.      High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.

2.      Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, preferred.

3.      Minimum (1) one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

4.      Comprehension of  Quality System Regulation (cGMP) for Medical Devices (21 CFR - Part 820), required.

Work Environment

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS & WORK AIDS

  1. Knowledge of Database software; Internet software and MS Office Products Word, Excel & Outlook Express Word Processing software. 

  2. Graphic Design and Publishing Software utilized in design and output of graphics, labels, and/or other outputs.  Recommendations for software applications for future process improvements.

  1. Ability to learn and function within a SAP environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1.      Fingering:   Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.

2.      Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

3.      Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

4.      Visual Acuity:  Closely viewing in order to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
