Job Description



Manages all kit sales and potential sales (quotes) for Surgitrack. Reports and manages all potential margin losses and opportunities for margin capture through daily contact with the field sales team and the Surgitrack technology platform. Monitors margin on other Owens & Minor (OM) kit programs involving the OMSpecialties group, including sales of custom packs and similar programs. Ongoing and regular contact with the field sales team is necessary. Assesses daily (through use) the technology platform(s) and generates enhancement suggestions in concert with the OM technology team.  


1.       Views and monitors every single quotation for new sales and modifications of existing Surgitrack bills of material as generated by the field sales team through the Surgitrack technology platform.

2.       Serves as the first line of margin management to ensure that margin minimums are attained and that any "margin gain" opportunities, such as the use of company-preferred suppliers and SKU's, are capitalized upon during the quoting process.

3.       Informs management and other internal stakeholders of margin position for the program. 

4.       Acts as a subject matter expert on QSight SurgiTrack system. 

5.       Works with field when necessary to elevate problems with component products relating to UOM problems, supplier adds, product adds, pricing issues, and contracts & rebates issues.

6.       Daily manages and assesses the Business Objects kitting operations for margin position.

7.       Processes or completes all final kitting quotes as generated/submitted by the field sales team.

8.       Reports any opportunities to management for margin enhancement in currently sold kits and for potential new business.


1.       Performs additional duties as directed. 



  • Four-year undergraduate degree, required
  • Experience in kitting, either within OM or from an outside company specializing in this service
  • Experience using automated office equipment, required
  • At least three years (aggregate) of industry and/or OM experience
  • Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements


  • Acumen to learn and utilize OM proprietary operating systems, especially the Qsight technology platform and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Technical ability to work between disparate systems
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with the field sales team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Solid planning and organizational skills


  • May work extended hours on occasion
