Job Description



Provides decision support for business areas across the enterprise. Applies complex mathematical and statistical techniques to develop cost of service sensitivity models.  Draws conclusions and makes recommendations to fulfill business objectives and drive change. Gathers, manipulates and synthesizes data (e.g., attributes, transactions, behaviors, performance, etc.), models and other relevant information to draw conclusions and make recommendations that resulting in highly impactful operational changes or implementable strategies. 



1.       Leverages business/analytical/system knowledge to develop and maintain a comprehensive cost of service model and participates in discussions with cross-functional teams to understand and collaborate on business objectives and influence solution strategies.

2.       Integrates/transforms disparate data sources and determines the appropriate data hygiene techniques to apply.

3.       Thoroughly documents assumptions, methodology, validation and testing to facilitate peer reviews and training; subsequent analysts should be able to rely on documentation to replicate and continue work.

4.       Understands and adopts emerging technology and market shifts that can affect the application of scientific methodologies and/or quantitative analytical approaches to problem resolutions.

5.       Completes ad-hoc data analysis as determined by business need and/or management need.

6.       Recommendations typically have an impact on business results.


  • Performs additional duties as directed.





  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Ten or more years of applicable experience required
  • Certified Lean, Six Sigma or Transaction Process Systems (TPS) training preferred


  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to effectuate return on investment required
  • Ability to review and analyze information from multiple sources
  • Ability to assess needs, identify issues, recommend alternatives and implement change
  • Ability to work through ambiguity by gathering more data or seeking clarification
  • Strong ability and experience managing and performing multiple concurrent tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;  able to communicate complex concepts to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to plan and coordinate completion of tasks in a multi-deadline environment
  • Ability to collaborate with others, make effective decisions, and negotiate well
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving through use of data and information; ability to recommend process improvements based on information and metrics
  • Proficient project management skills with a focus on managing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals
  • Excellent PC skills with strong expertise in managing data via Excel, Access, Hyperion, Oracle OBIEE, Business Objects or Cognos
  • Ability to work under structured supervision, independently, and as part of a team
  • Experience with establishing operational standards and metrics
  • Professional demeanor when representing O&M internally and externally
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations required.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional areas with diverse backgrounds


  • Position will require some travel
  • May need to work long hours on occasion
