POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Plant Manager drives operational efficiency improvements providing year-on-year continuous improvement. Will ensure compliance to general management practices, standard operating procedures, order management systems and regulatory requirements.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.      Builds a high performing, collaborative team through hiring, training, coaching, counseling and disciplining.

2.      Sets Operational goals and objectives specific to the achievement of the overall company plan.  Full P&L responsibility for the operations including direct responsibility for Production, Supply Chain, Facilities and Engineering allied with dotted line responsibility for Quality, HR and Finance.

3.      Defines financial opportunities, presents assumptions and recommend objectives as a basis for a strategic plan that compliments the company's current and long term goals.  Develops and implements operational improvement programs that will deliver targets set per the Clinical Procedures Services Strategic Plan.

4.      Sets the sites objectives and accompanying budgets and in concert with heads of function, develops the supporting goals and budget for each department/activity.   Design and implement the appropriate suite of KPI's that measure adherence to state goals making mid-course correction(s) as required.

5.      Contributes to the design and implementation of a balanced scorecard that integrates with Corporate operational requirements.

6.      Directs preparation of policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented in accordance with the company plan.

7.      Promotes the operation in industry, manufacturing or trade associations and with major customers.

8.      Collaborates with home office and other locations to uncover any synergies or opportunities across the company and to ensure that operational goals are appropriately aligned with the overall company goals.

9.      Maintain disclosure controls and procedures and internal controls over financial reporting

10.  Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the operation.

11.  Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans, standards and procedures, consistent with established policies

12.  Manages supporting senior managers and team members located in the operation. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these professionals.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

13.  Responsible for developing and monitoring sound business processes and internal controls that enable the achievement of corporate objectives, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with local, state, federal and international laws and regulations, as applicable.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in a high volume, fast paced, labor intensive environment at the General Manager level required
  • Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
  • Strong background in LEAN Six-Sigma applications -- Black Belt standard preferred

10.  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software. 

11.  Proficiency in SAP is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 1.      Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

 2.      Sedentary work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

 3.      Visual Acuity:  Closely viewing in order to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
