Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Supports business processes through the management and maintenance of vendor and product files.  Provides supplier and product information to the divisions and other internal departments in a timely and accurate manner with emphasis on product and supplier maintenance and analytically processing changes within system.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

1.       Manipulates and maintains supplier data files and maintains product file data to include all product attributes for active and discontinued products.

2.       Analyzes and establishes new product file data by review and verification; processes new data within departmental timeframe.

3.       Evaluates and updates supplier and product file data, including specific product and vendor attributes.

4.       Works collaboratively with Category Management Team on product choices.  Maintains cross reference in product file.

5.       Provides analytical support to internal customers concerning product and vendor file discrepancies and exceptions.

6.       Assists interdepartmental and field teammates with product/supplier/customer project issues

7.       Works collaboratively with suppliers to initiate EDI transaction sets.

8.       Interfaces with other corporate EDI support functions to coordinate resolution of EDI issues between Owens & Minor and suppliers.

9.       Communicates and maintains vendor product liability insurance certification.  Works directly with third part service provider to manage all certification.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

1.      Performs additional duties as directed. 



Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Through knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as cost or general accounting, statistics, or programming  Minimum of ten years in a senior leadership role either in a corporate role or large agency
  • Three or more years of directly applicable experience required
  • Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to think analytically
  • Ability to review and audit statistical information
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Skill in using automated and manual equipment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • May work extended hours on occasion
  • Ability to work various shifts
