Job Description


The Quality Assurance IT Tester performs testing activities on assigned projects by following a testing process while ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget and quality of the project.  Completes activities associated with maintaining and promoting the testing process as well as producing all required project artifacts and updates associated with testing and defect management.



1.       Works with the Quality Assurance (QA) Process Owner by implementing and executing effective test processes; maintains those processes by assessing the progress and effectiveness of the test efforts.

2.       Works with QA Process Owner to conduct testing activities for assigned projects.

    1. Ensures adherence to the schedule and test plan.

3.       Identifies/manages risks to the testing efforts and determines the appropriate mitigation strategies.

    1. Escalates risks and issues when appropriate to the QA process owner.

4.       Coordinates the proper technical and application support need for test execution.

5.       Prepares test progress and status reports for the project management group and key stakeholders.

6.       Creates, delivers, and approvals of testing documentation.

7.       Participates in design (writing, review, and approval) and development of test cases and user stories.

8.       Participates in execution of test cases.

9.       Works at the program/project level to participate in reviews (such as requirements and design) and makes testing-related recommendations.

10.   Completes the defect management process within assigned projects.


1.      Performs additional duties as directed.


  •        Associates Degree in related field of study; Bachelors Degree preferred
  •        Five or more years of IT testing experience
  •        Strong quality assurance background
  •        Experience in performing all phases of software testing: System/Functional, Integration, Regression, UAT, Performance, etc.
  •        Strong skills in defining and developing testing documentation, test plans and test cases/user stories
  •        Strong QA analytical skills with an understanding of the SDLC


  • Thorough knowledge and experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle using Agile/SCRUM methodology
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience writing SQL queries
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Web-based, and .NET application architectures
  • Strong understanding of software development terminology
  • Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server or Visual Studio Team Services to develop and execute test cases
  • Experience with .NET platforms

  • Experience with automation tools such as QTP, ability to review/evaluate and participate in  developing an automation strategy
  • Experience with Supply Chain Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills; must be fluent and proficient in spoken and written English
  • Excellent attention to detail

  • May work extended hours on occasion
