Job Description


Performs financial analyses including research and reconciliations; negotiates with trading partners to minimize financial exposure and to ensure timely resolution of rebate/chargeback matters.   Serves as the primary analyst for more complex or risky supplier accounts.  Evaluates rebates/chargebacks and sales tracing data and issues credits or repayments as appropriate.  Researches discrepancies; prevents discrepancies/errors by updating and correcting data in internal systems; identifies opportunities for and collaborates with internal and external partners on implementing process improvements. Provides guidance to more junior teammates helping them resolve issues


1.       Manages rebate concerns for a spectrum of supplier accounts.

2.       Resolves most issues independently.  Seeks guidance on more complex issues. Utilizes creative problem solving and critical thinking to develop alternative solutions.

3.       Comprehends complex customer and contract structures and determines appropriateness of rebate/chargeback claims in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, updating internal files as needed.

4.       Initiates repayment requests for invalid rebates/chargebacks.

5.       Evaluates and responds to monthly rebate/chargeback discrepancy reports from trading partners.

6.       Analyzes, researches, and resolves rebate/chargeback discrepancies and provides appropriate notification to trading partners with a focus on minimizing financial risk and aged balances; develops action plan to bring closure to open issues.

7.       Proactively addresses issues and recommends solutions and/or alternatives to trading partners and to internal teammates.

8.       Develops and maintains relationships with trading partners to strengthen rebate/chargeback operations between the parties, including conversations to resolve outstanding issues and to seek process improvement.

9.       Gains knowledge of partners' systems and processes to ensure optimal efficiencies.

10.   Maintains documentation to support open and closed rebate/chargeback claims.

11.   Reviews and analyzes data using working knowledge of advanced analytical tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, Business Objects, Oracle, SAP, and other O&M systems.

12.   Prepares analytical reporting for management and for Trading Partners.

13.   Manages the Rebate/Chargeback GL accounts for audit and monthly reporting with additional responsibilities as assigned for quarterly and yearend audits, including account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and audit schedule preparation.

14.   Serves as project lead on designated special projects.


1.    Performs additional duties as directed.



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a Business-Related focus required
  • Five or more years of experience as an analyst required
  • Experience in SAP and/or Vistex preferred
  • Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, analytics) required
  • Experience in contracts or rebates required


  • Requires a thorough knowledge of rebates, contracts, pricing, and accounts payable and handles a desk of approximately $500M/year. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate persuasively and to present complex information effectively
  • Able to independently research and resolve complex issues
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting goals for a spectrum of accounts.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to operate office equipment (such as personal computers) and use software (such as MS Outlook, Advance Excel, Access, Word or other Windows platform software)
  • Utilizes excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks within deadlines


  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines
