POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Regional Finance Business Partner is a key partner with leadership within a business unit region (e.g. Domestic) and provides support for the regional business team including the regional vice presidents.  Leads a staff of financial professionals who are responsible for their region's annual budget, financial forecasts and financial analysis including:  variance analysis, return on investment analysis for capital expenditure and other projects, trend analysis, tracking of key performance indicators and other ad hoc analysis.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.       Directs a group of financial professionals who work closely with the regional leadership team and the corporate finance providing insight to the financial results, identifying significant trends and resulting implications. 

2.       Identifies required actions to improve financial and operational performance and tracks progress of initiatives.

3.       Directs preparation of financial presentations (using corporate standard templates) on behalf of regional leaders including quarterly business review reports and scorecards.

4.       Works closely with the Accounting team to ensure aspects of the financial close process are orderly, and contributes toward the accuracy of the financial results as reported in the company financial statements. 

5.       Under the guidance of corporate finance, leads the region's financial planning efforts, including the annual budget and financial forecasts.

6.       Provides input to Corporate Development in connection with the long-term financial plan.

7.       Directs the financial analysis using company-standard financial models for capital expenditure requests for the region.  Reviews and approves these financial analyses prior to submission.  Prepares certain financial analysis for significant capital projects including those which impact the entire region.

8.       Leads and directs the analysis of current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of goods sold, expenses, and working capital.

9.       Leads the efforts to enhance the content and design of existing financial and operational dashboards, along with providing input for the development of new dashboards.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1.      Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field required; Master's Degree and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) highly preferred

2.      Twelve plus years of related experience; seven to ten years in a position of similar scope and impact is required

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1.       Must have proven corporate financial analysis skills including a knowledge of financial business plans and processes

2.       Ability to influence senior leadership and have the ability to push back when necessary

3.       Proven ability to assess needs, identify issues, recommend alternatives and implement change

4.       Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and implement complex financial projects

5.       Strong ability and experience managing and performing multiple concurrent tasks

6.       Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences

7.       Demonstrated understanding of financial processes and systems; familiarity with mainframe, client server and web-based computer systems

8.       Ability to plan and coordinate completion of tasks in a multi-deadline environment

9.       Ability to work independently and as a team leader

10.   Ability to lead and direct the work of others - providing coaching and mentoring



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.       Ability to travel up to 20%
