Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Develops efficient work procedures, recommendations for on-going process improvement, and coordinates with Reimbursement and Operations management to meet billing and collection goals for the company.  Analyzes and expedites the release of orders and invoices to assist in providing a positive overall customer experience.  Coordinates and performs activities associated with maintenance, development, and fostering of relationships between our customers and Owens & Minor.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

1.      Verifies customer benefits via phone, fax, and web portal.

2.      Develops training for team resources to increase productivity.

3.      Effectively manages and coordinates all activities relating to the submissions, follow up, and receipt of proactive authorizations.

4.      Processes and releases orders using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

5.      Achieves daily release of priority credit review invoices and communicates with the appropriate department(s) to coordinate their release when necessary.

6.      Manages the work efforts of the team leads and individual contributors;  mentors team resources; hires, terminates and evaluates teammate performance as required.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • Performs additional duties as directed.


Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Six or more years of experience required
  • One year of leadership responsibility required
  • Or combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
  • Must be familiar with the interpretation of insurance benefits and possess the ability to explain insurance benefits to others
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurances and healthcare procedure coding system (HCPCS) required

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    

  • Analytic problem solver who is able to address areas of conflict independently
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Little or no traveling required (less than 10%)
