POSITION SUMMARY

Leads the global design, implementation and administration of O&M's total rewards programs (compensation, benefits, global mobility, relocation, equity program, immigration) designed to attract, retain and motivate talent.  Collaborates with the CHRO in the creation of the global philosophy, strategy and guiding principles for total rewards programs.  Designs programs utilizing industry best practices and benchmarking data focused on rewarding, retaining and attracting a talented global workforce.  Creates consistent, standardized and replicable programs aligned with the overall company business strategy. Collaborates with the HRBP Team in the implementation and execution of total rewards programs; supporting the team through the creation of streamlined processes and procedures.  Tracks and measures financial impact of total rewards programs including adoption and usage of plans/programs. 

The Global Leader Total Rewards will support M&A activities and will lead the integration of total rewards programs across the global organization.  Leads a global team of total rewards professionals delivering best in class programs and processes.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

1.       Leads the development of the global total rewards philosophy and framework encompassing all aspects of total compensation, retirement and health and welfare programs.   Partners with key stakeholders across the organization.

2.       Develops and continually advances compensation and benefits programs to align with business strategy and ensure the right mix and offerings are available to attract and retain an innovative, high caliber global workforce. 

3.       Lead the design and development of the company's broad based wage and salary programs and structures including competitive short and long-term incentives plan for management, frontline and sales teammates. 

4.       Leads the development of the organization's annual process for merit, pay structure and cash/stock incentive compensation planning; Partner's with HR Team on delivery of the annual merit process.

5.       Partners with external consultants to the compensation committee on the design and development of materials for the Benefits and Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors including equity recommendations, benefits and compensation programs, market competitiveness reviews, regulatory changes and CD&A requirements; participate in meetings when necessary

6.       Partners with key stakeholders in the development of proxy materials, equity, annual incentive plans, sales incentives and compensation salary ranges.

7.       Designs, implements and routinely assesses the company's benefits competitiveness relative to market and ensures program compliance on a country-by-country basis.  Develops global population health programs to encourage a focus on healthy lifestyles.

8.       Manages strategic vendors, aligning vendor offerings with company strategy, cost management and analysis of overall program impact.

9.       Leads and participates in due diligence reviews of compensation and benefits plan in pre-deal phase and develops total compensation and rewards integration strategy to support mergers and acquisitions. (as required)

10.   Proactively benchmarks Owens & Minor total rewards programs to ensure market competitiveness; continually assess programs for effectiveness and adjust as necessary.

11.   Establishes standardized, consistent compensation and benefits programs across the enterprise, in partnership with key stakeholders inclusive of the HR Business Partner Team. 

12.   Provides continual education to the HR team on the total rewards philosophy, strategy and programs in support of the HRBP service delivery model. 

13.   Educates HR Teammates and leaders on compensation philosophy, strategy and programs; providing consistent standardized frameworks, policies and procedures implemented by the HRBP Team. 

14.   Directs the preparation of communication materials such as program announcement materials, plan booklets, Summary Plan descriptions, Summary of Material Modifications, 5500s, Summary Annual Reports, Incentive Plan materials and other media for communicating new plans; partners with internal Communications Team.

15.   Ensures compliance with provisions of state and federal governmental regulations such as OFCCP, FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, IRS/SEC etc.; reviews and analyzes changes to state, federal, and international laws pertaining to compensation and benefits, provides necessary or suggested changes to management.

16.   Leads a team of Compensation and Benefits professionals; ensures team has a thorough understanding of the business to address complex needs; trains, mentors and empowers the team to develop the necessary subject matter expertise to excel in Centers of Excellence service delivery model.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field; MHRM or MBA preferred
  • CCP/CEBS or equivalent required; SPHR preferred
  • Ten plus years of professional Total Compensation, Benefits and/or HR experience
  • Seven or more years of leadership responsibility of similar scope
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior management and/or the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Global Experience required
  • Public company experience required
  • Or a combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in audit compliance


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Ability to work long hours on occasion
