Job Description



Responsible for providing analytical and consulting support in delivery of logistical, clinical, cost management, technology and/or consulting services, in areas such as inventory management/logistics, contract management, value analysis, process design, project management, technology implementations, data collection or analysis implementations and other client related services. Works on projects and project-related initiatives as assigned by leadership.  Plays a supporting role in engagements that generate significant annual revenue and/or margin recognition. 


Individual Contributor still learning and developing functional expertise under general direction.

Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.   Has mastered many of the basic job duties.

Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.   Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.   Builds productive working relationships.

Incumbents are still directed in several aspects of their work.  However, more routine and straight forward tasks are accomplished without assistance.   Still requires much direction, but will have the education and basic skills required to do basic job tasks.

Learning broad principles of specialty.   Some proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.   May need to consult with higher level staff members on some issues.  


1.      Participates in supply chain consulting projects.

2.      Responsible for coordination or implementation of project tasks and meeting project deadlines and deliverables.

3.      Assists in gathering, researching and/or analyzing data from a variety of sources to produce actionable information from which short and long term recommendations can be made.

4.      Responsible for performing supply chain analytics/analysis, process mapping, data collection or analysis, project status updates, and other O&M related services under the direction of project leader, including success story documentation.

5.      Participates in supply chain assessments and interviews of internal and external customers to identify opportunities for supply chain improvements. Compares O&M or client performance to industry best practices.

6.      Summarizes and presents work results/outputs to internal and external customers in a formal and informal setting.

7.      Provides remote or on-site services across a single initiative.  In addition, contributes to post-engagement documentation of successes and lessons learned.

8.      Supports O&M projects to improve revenue, margin, customer retention and efficiencies through participation in cross functional teams.

9.      Reports project progress against deliverables, quality, cost, and schedule expectations including providing project status reports to the appropriate internal and external project leadership/stakeholders.

10.  Contributes to post-engagement project and individual performance review process and drafts individual development plan.

11.  Consistently adheres to use of O&M standardized tools and methodologies.

12.  Provides input to the appropriate teams for the development of O&M tools, methods, and services.

13.  Assists in recruitment of quality O&M teammates.


1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



1.      Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management or related field is preferred

2.      Healthcare supply chain management preferred

3.      LEAN or Six Sigma Certification preferred

Typically requires 2 - 3 years' experience of progressively responsible experience in logistics, health care supply chain management, consulting, or nursing services in a progressive and complex environment (e.g. large hospital or multi-hospital system, GPO, or manufacturer) and a specialist degree.


A.      Demonstrated understanding of supply chain management, consulting principles and practices. 

B.      Demonstrated data analytics, planning and organizational skills.

C.      Analytical/PC skills: Excel, Access, Visio, Value Stream Mapping, word processing, project planning and graphics presentation software.

D.      Demonstrated competencies in communication, documentation as needed to successfully interact with internal and external customers.

E.       Demonstrated ability to work independently, with multiple teammates, and with a diverse team.

F.       Possess the ability to listen and respond appropriately to customer and co-worker requests, communicate effectively with clients and team members, to clarify understanding, diffuse tense situations, and deliver information.

G.  Ability to research, write and present critical analyses and recommendations relevant to stated subject matter expertise.

H.   Ability to adjust to client preferences regarding the format and style of consulting activities and reports, ability to prepare charts, graphs and written assessments. 

I.     Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customer.
