POSITION SUMMARY

 

Maintains and demonstrates a proficiency in a business or clinical discipline that is integral to the success of consulting engagements. Leads project initiatives in the business or clinical discipline in which the consultant is proficient.  Responsible for the successful delivery of logistical, clinical, cost management, technology and/or consulting services, in areas such as inventory management/logistics, contract management, value analysis, process design, project management, technology implementations, data collection or analysis implementations and other client related services.  Works on projects and project-related initiatives as assigned by leadership. Plays a supporting role in engagements that generate significant annual revenue and/or margin recognition. 



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Leads supply chain consulting project initiatives/work streams. 
  2. Acts as Subject-Matter-Expert on the business or clinical disciplines in which the consultant is proficient.
  3. Gathers, researches, analyzes, and evaluates data from a variety of sources to produce strategic and actionable short and long-term initiative recommendations. Summarizes key findings and conclusions; presents recommendations to key stakeholders including senior executives in O&M or client organizations, including success story documentation.
  4. Responsible for performing supply chain analytics/analysis, process mapping, data collection or analysis, project status updates, input to project plans and other O&M related services under the direction of project leader.
  5. Participates in supply chain assessments and interviews of internal and external customers to identify opportunities for supply chain improvements. Makes recommendations to O&M or clients based on industry best practices and/or successfully demonstrated results of similar organizations.
  6. Summarizes and presents work results/outputs to internal and external customers in a formal and informal setting.
  7. Provides remote or on-site services across multiple initiatives.  In addition, contributes to post-engagement documentation of successes and lessons learned.
  8. Supports O&M projects to improve revenue, margin, customer retention and efficiencies through participation in cross functional teams.
  9. Reports and/or presents project progress against deliverables, quality, cost, and schedule expectations including providing project status reports to the appropriate internal and external project leadership/stakeholders.
  10. Contributes to post-engagement project and individual performance review process.
  11. Consistently adheres to use of O&M standardized tools and methodologies.
  12. Provides input to the appropriate teams for the development of O&M tools, methods, and services.
  13. Assists in recruitment of quality O&M teammates. Educates and develops O&M teammates. 
  14. Educates teammates and client's staff in supply chain processes.
  15. Leads initiatives within the project/engagement structure.
  16. Participates in supply chain assessments.  Interviews internal and external customers to identify opportunities for supply chain improvements. Documents supply chain improvement recommendations to project leadership based on industry best practices and/or successfully demonstrated results of similar organizations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1.       Bachelor's Degree, RN, or equivalent experience in healthcare logistics, supply chain management, nursing, or related field is preferred

2.       Healthcare supply chain management preferred

3.       LEAN or Six Sigma Certification preferred

4.       Project Management Certification preferred

5.       Typically requires five+ years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, health care supply chain management, consulting, or nursing services in a progressive and complex environment (e.g. large hospital or multi-hospital system, Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), or manufacturer)

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Demonstrated understanding of supply chain management, consulting principles and practices
  2. Demonstrated competencies in communication, project management, presentation, process design, data analytics, persuasion and negotiation skills as needed to successfully interact with internal and external O&M customers
  3. Proven ability to identify and communicate opportunities to Center For Excellence project leadership and/or to appropriate internal O&M leadership to expand the scope of existing engagement
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage small consulting engagements and project teams (1-3 teammates), work independently, with internal and external teammates, and with a diverse team
  5. Proven ability to organize and facilitate multi-disciplinary work teams
  6. Possess the ability to listen and respond appropriately to customer and co-worker requests, communicate effectively with clients and team members, to clarify understanding, diffuse tense situations, and deliver information effectively
  7. Ability to research, write and present critical analyses and recommendations relevant to stated subject matter expertise
  8. Ability to adjust to client preferences regarding the format and style of consulting activities and reports, ability to prepare charts, graphs and written assessments
  9. Ability to build and maintain relationships with O&M teammates, hospital staff and physicians, and/or manufactures
  10. Ability to communicate, influence, and persuade others at all levels, to present information in a clear, concise, professional manner.
  11. Demonstrated analytical/PC skills:  Excel, Access, Visio, Value Stream Mapping, word processing, project planning and graphics presentation software.
  12. Where applicable, ability to create and/or modify interfaces


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. 80% to 100% travel required.
