POSITION SUMMARY

 

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Warehouse Manager (Production Facility) leads a fast paced, regulated, high volume, labour intensive manufacturing operation to ensure that the entire manufacturing process runs efficiently, safely and delivers on business objectives.  The Manager is responsible for overseeing management of all warehouse activities within area of remit and for achieving optimum labor with the least amount of overhead. 



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.       Collaborates with colleagues to build and develop CPS Operations, including processes and procedures to support the company's strategic direction.

2.       Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs to leadership which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the operational profitability.

3.       Provides guidance to the Production, Warehouse and Process Engineering Managers, to ensure approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives; and that inventory and shipping/receiving functions are operating at levels which meet customers' needs and established financial benchmarks.

4.       Develops and drives initiatives through reference to LEAN manufacturing techniques designed to improve the productivity of resources within assigned areas.

5.       Establishes and delivers clear Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for performance enhancement, profit improvement and increased efficiency across manufacturing at the highest industry quality standards for assigned facility.

6.       Establishes operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery for assigned facility.

7.       Communicates weekly business targets to Production and Warehouse Departments to maintain established customer service levels. 

8.       Assures all plant capacities are communicated and adjusted to maintain business requirements. 

9.       In conjunction with the General Manager, establishes policies in the areas of manufacturing techniques, materials usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures.

10.   Provides leadership or problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.

11.   Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.

12.   Ensures that all production teams operate within plant GMP regulations and guidelines at all times.

13.   In conjunction with Owens & Minor University and on-site trainers, develops training and development plans as appropriate for facility.  

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Business Administration, Engineering or related field required
  • Five plus years of experience in a high volume, fast paced, labor intensive manufacturing environment as manager required
  • Experienced and proven track record in the use of and implementation of practical and theoretical LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
  • Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
  • Black Belt qualification preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1.       Requires the ability to collaborate with other members of management on manufacturing systems development and deployment

2.       Requires the ability to provide guidance on manufacturing systems and to provide input to employee training and development

3.       Must possess exemplary technical skills in process improvement, freight and distribution, materials management and production scheduling

4.       Capable of long term planning and forecasting over a one to three year time span

5.       Proven leadership abilities with a focus on achieving results through others

6.       Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality

7.       Strong organization and time management skills

8.       Ability to efficiently handle multiple projects



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.       Ability to travel up to 20%
