Job Description



This position will encompass all aspects of the warehouse raw material picking process to include knowledge of medical components, full knowledge of the stocking, storage and picking process, problem solving, line balancing, housekeeping and auditing.


1.      Maintain knowledge of all warehouse processes.

2.      Maintain working knowledge of all medical components.

3.      Organize and lead the work of a team of warehouse material handlers (order pullers).

4.      Ensure assigned team members perform designated duties within allotted timeframes and according to established procedures.

5.      Ensure team's compliance with established quality standards.

6.      Provide input to management regarding warehouse material handlers'/pullers' progress; assist in completion of end-of-shift paperwork.

7.      Accurately complete necessary paperwork.

8.      Investigate and resolve problems encountered by the team.

9.      Utilize expertise of warehousing processes to improve through-put efficiencies.

10.  Provide training to material handlers.

11.  Perform receiving, stocking and pulling duties.

12.  Accurately decipher production orders and box materials accordingly.

13.  Accurately pull and count components.

14.  Operate reach lift and order picker.


1.      Performs additional duties as directed.



1.      High School Diploma or GED preferred.

2.      Must have a minimum of six (6) months experience in the company's warehouse.


1.      Ability to read and write legibly; able to effectively communicate information and ideas in writing and to speak so others will understand.

2.      Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.

3.      Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently; excellent attention-to-detail.

4.      Ability to track and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.

5.      Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritized with guidance from a Warehouse management team member.

6.      Ability to perform basic computer actions and to use Microsoft Word.

7.      Must possess the willingness to learn and receive limited computer training.

8.      Ability to learn company software programs such as the ERP system.

9.      Must be able to maintain a professional attitude in difficult situations.

10.  Demonstrated ability to lead others; excellent interpersonal skills.

11.  Ability to work well as a team member.

12.  Adaptable to changing environment and varying daily tasks.

13.  Requires a proven ability to work under independently, follow instructions and pre-established guidelines in order to perform the functions of the job.

14.  Must be able to process and safeguard sensitive and confidential information.

15.  Ability to support the fiscal year inventory process.

16.  Ability to safely operate lift equipment and maintain forklift certification.

3.      Ability to withstand varying temperature extremes in the warehouse is required.

4.      Mobility required allowing access to all areas of the Warehouse and other work areas as needed.

5.      Must be able to withstand varying temperature extremes in the Warehouse to fulfill responsibilities.

6.      Must comply with company hygiene and gowning requirements as defined in the Department Operating Procedures, 'Gowning Requirements and Basic Hygiene for Warehouse, Assembly, Clean Room and Boxing Areas'.

7.      Must be able to withstand exposure to isopropyl alcohol used to clean hands.

8.      Must be able to withstand exposure to latex medical components.



1.      Fingering:   Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.

2.      Repetitive motions: Requires full range of motion to frequently bend, reach, push, pull and lift and load product as necessary; making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Frequently twists torso when maneuvering into rows or shelving to retrieve products; frequently works above shoulders to store or retrieve items that are located on the racks in the warehouse; frequently squats/kneels when picking from lower shelves in the warehouse.

3.      Lifting Requirements:  Frequent lifting/carrying of weights up to 55 pounds, frequent push forces up to 25 foot-pounds at average walking speeds.  Occasional lifting/carrying of weights between 56 pounds and 75 pounds, occasional push forces between 56 foot-pounds and 75 foot-pounds at average walking speeds.  Rare lifting/carrying of weights greater than 76ft-lbs, rare push forces greater than 76 foot-pounds at average walking speeds.  All weights and forces can be carried over short and long distances.

4.      Visual Acuity:  Closely viewing in order to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
