Job Description

This position is both administrative and operational and has primary responsibility for allocating orders, releasing work to warehouse floor, balancing workflow, and ensuring inbound and outbound truck turn times are within acceptable levels to meet customer needs.



1.    Assigns and monitors the work including staging, wave times and pick assignments for various teammates.

2.    Batches all incoming orders together by client, service level and order type.

3.    Allocates all LTL/FTL (International and Domestic) shipments for processing.

4.    Controls the priority and pick levels of each order and maintain priority of emergency orders.

5.    Ensures communication between pickers and replenishers for stock replenishment needs and troubleshoot as needed.

6.    Assists the staging and shipping of products from the dock which includes QC loads, loading, manifesting and finally closing of the trailers to be released.

7.    Maintains the operational standards of printers during the pick.

8.    Maintains inventory and adjust counts when necessary.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND WORK AIDS:

General office equipment to include PC.

Experience with warehouse equipment including warehouse management system (RedPrairie experience preferred)

Inside working conditions.

STRENGTH REQUIREMENT:

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

            Acuity, near

            Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

            Handling

            Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand. 

            Fingering

            Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling).

            Talking

            Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Talking is important for those activities in which workers must impart oral information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

            Hearing

            Perceiving the nature of sounds.  Hearing is important for those activities which require ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on running engines. 



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

A.     EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:

   High school diploma or GED equivalency

B.       WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 months and up to and including 1 year related experience and/or training

C.     KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


      Strong verbal and written communication

      Strong personal computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

      Ability to organize and execute work tasks in a timely manner

      Ability to work independently and with a team
